I bought five tubes of paint for this piece and used every drop of each. The profile rises from the canvas like the head of a giant looking through a sixth floor window.

The Samuel Adams bottle cap, at the center of the eye’s pupil, speaks to an American spirit at the center of the looking. It is an American spirit looking through the frame at the viewer. It is our colossus, flesh and pores, very much alive. We are current with it. Our connection is warm and continuing.
