NEON GREEN WATERMELON is as refreshing as it sounds. A mix of mediums with two bands it is a versatile stick. It is the first tobacco stick I ever painted with this two band feature. It has a solidness that suggests perhaps Oak and it’s ends are both pointed. It has an exactness to it’s shape. Wherever it goes it is sure to add a bolt of brightness.

Reclaimed tobacco sticks are farm tools reimagined
Each is an artifact hand-cut from Kentucky wood, hewn to a standard of 52″ long, squared at roughly 1″, and pointed at each end
Their original purpose was to hang tobacco leaves in ventilation barns to cure
I found them stacked in a friend’s barn in 2011(they had stopped growing tobacco years prior) and by spring 2012 they received an award for most successful use of recycled materials
Each is hand painted by me
