Repurposed farm Tool

These slender bolts of wooden wonderfulness originally hung tobacco leaves in a Kentucky ventilation barn. They are painted tobacco sticks, once farm tools used for generations on the farm of friends. I’d never seen a tobacco stick before seeing thousands of them laying dusty, in a stack, in their barn. Spectacularly appealing as tiny solid slivers of canvas, the first time I held one I knew instantly that I wanted to paint them.
