This tobacco stick was created to celebrate the wedding of a young lady I met on a daffodil picking weekend in Kentucky.
Louise and Shay married in Colorado on Saturday, and thus the inclusion of a Blue Columbine, the state’s flower.
Among their many interests I knew of their love of gardening. Through the guiding of her mom, Linda, I was pointed in the direction of their preference of flowers. In the end I chose blue Forget-Me-Nots, Cornflowers, Delphiniums, and one Blue Columbine.
It’s painted with acrylics and mixed medium on a repurposed tobacco stick once used on the farm where we picked those daffodils.
From family to family, friends to friends, this stick is a celebration of the love people share. And especially the love of newlyweds and new horizons.
