LIFE BIRTH FLESH is one of the first paintings I did with words on the frame. The new year was coming in (2001) and in it’s tabletop fruit in a bowl way this piece speaks to the bounty and serendipity each of us uniquely combine. Painted on glass it’s materials are a combination of acrylics, mixed mediums, and adornment.
On it’s frame is written:
LIFE, BIRTH, FLESH, BONE, SOUL, POINT OF VIEW, CAST. IT’S A TOSS OF THE COINS.
This piece speaks of how we enter this world. There’s a reflective aspect to the visual, a line made of shoe string separates, like the edge of a stream where the reflection is of what is on shore or above, the new entering frame.
This piece is painted on both sides of glass.
