- Painted reclaimed tobacco sticks are farm tools reimagined
- Each is an artifact hand-cut from Kentucky wood, hewn to a standard of 52″ long, squared at roughly 1″, and pointed at each end
- Their original purpose was to hang tobacco leaves in ventilation barns to cure
- I found them stacked in a friend’s barn in 2011(they had stopped growing tobacco years prior) and by spring 2012 they received an award for most successful use of recycled materials
- Each is hand painted by me

SUNSHINE CONNECTIONS is one of two I did on dark background fields. MIDNIGHT, the other stick, has silvery tones. SUNSHINE is bright day. Sunshine is painted on wood with acrylics and mixed medium.
