Gold Vase

GOLD VASE has a medical alert story associated with it.  While working on it using an X-Acto blade I cut a finger on my primary hand. Using my other hand I feebly wrote what came out as a  cryptic note to my friend who was to meet me at my studio — gone to the hospital. At the hospital I didn’t get any stitches just a curious reception. I over reacted. Now I apply pressure to cuts.

When I was doing this piece, and in it’s present form, it feels like it always has – regal, ancient, bold.  It’s a small fella, and while not real gold and not preciously jeweled, it is what using those materials could never be… a delight without the burden of weighted value.  It is blue glass with acrylics, mixed medium, adornment, crystal.
