Oval

Oval - by Evan Silberman

OVAL was painted after a trip to Denmark and includes a stamp of their Queen.

The assistant at the West Village gallery where Oval was shown said this piece spoke to her as being highly female.

My X was showing and she felt it. Unfortunately she left my Y to dangle.

All my work is full on me, XY, through and through. Not X or Y.

Oval is mixed medium and deeply surfaced. It’s a lively and loving piece. It speaks to infiniteness and expansive beauty.

It is spring, joy, birth and celebration.

2001, 9″ x 14″, is painted on an oval frame, velvet covered board, using acrylics and mixed medium.

At it’s top is a figure with hands made of blue beads and arms of yellow cord.
