These are all slender silhouettes. Why? Because I had a great piece of clear vinyl acetate and wanted to make the most of it. The pencil came first. What else could fit in a small strip? A pineapple on a classic column, a smile inducing toothbrush and a test tube showing life.
They’re painted using acrylics and mixed medium on both sides and have clear acetate.
They’re approximately 52″ x 12″ each. 2009.
Pineapple Welcome
What says welcome? A pineapple. A pineapple on a column. In your foyer. Welcome art.
Toothbrush
I had my dentist in mind when I did this. Soft bristled like it says.
#Two
This was the first of the four I did. Got the ball rolling. I liked spelling the pencil’s number.
Green Growing
Upward bound, life surges in this piece.
They have lots of potential for hanging and mounting. From as simple as thumbtacks hanging them to mounting them to clear Plexi so they could be object as well as painting and, for example, rest on the floor and lean back against the wall.
Bold and humble, coarse and fine. Lively.
